The Earth on which we live is a continuously changing and evolving entity. Humans need to evolve and change to match the Earth, rather than let ourselves be stratified into a defined mold/box.
One way we could do this, is to evolve our methods of power generation. One idea is to create a battery of wave motors offshore to harness the almost infinite power of our oceans. And to expand on that, add wind motors to the installations in order to harness the power of the offshore jet stream. Take the electricity generated by these two methods and store it in a bank of batteries, for later transmission to a shore installation and for further propagation to various customers.
Instead of using hard wires/cables for the transmission of the stored power, we should develop a form of beam transmission that moves the electrical atoms along a defined pathway and on a defined frequency to their destination. Whether the destination is a shore gathering/storage point, or via satellite to other points across the world or too substations that distribute the stored power to individual customers.
Currently we are using a rapidly aging form of power generation and transmission. And we are in our infancy in regards to tight waveform prorogation over tight frequencies. This newer method of power collection and transmission would be much better for our environment, since it would be cleaner due to the lack of miles and miles of wire fouling our seas and land. In fact, whole sections of our cities and covered by a mass of power transmission cables, an unbelievable mass of metal and ongoing hazard for the Earth's citizens and animal population.
Think about the possibility of going to a dense area of people, looking up towards the sky and not seeing a power line obstructing your view of that sky. No longer of having to worry about the hazards of a downed power line in the event of a bad weather-related storm. Sure, the grid as we know it today, would cease to exist, however the benefit of cleaner power and one less hazard to both us humans and to the planet's animals as a whole, is worth the change and it would help to improve our overall quality of life, not to feel hemmed in by a mass of highly charged wire that is an ongoing hazard waiting to happen. Don't bury the power lines, get rid of them entirely. Use beam transmission instead and use a frequency that is not harmful to either Humanity or to the animal life that we share this world with.
The biggest question is: Is our technology and knowledge advanced enough to properly develop and utilize this advanced form of power transmission? It is really hard for the average person to know, since so much advanced science on this subject is kept tightly hidden by the government and other scientific entities. And of course the currently powerful utility companies would not like it much if their current form of power monopoly, could be upset by a much cleaner and more efficient form of power generation and transmission.
An even more interesting idea, is to extend the beam transmission idea, to include telephone and cable TV and thereby get rid of even more of the wires/cables that inundate both our ground and air. Which currently creates hazards to either digging or to anything flying within any select area.
The current ideas of helping our planet, is via recycling and reducing hazardous chemical emissions, however there are other ways that have not been fully considered, such as the thousands of miles of highly charged and hazardous wire that cross and re-cross our land and sea masses. None of that helps our environment and contributes to the over-all unhealthy state of the earth as a whole. We have introduced coated metal into environments where it never existed before, some have been changed to protected fiber optic, still we are introducing foreign man-made material into natural ecosystems where it never existed. All the while assuming that the various environments will adjust to our enforced change.
